ARBC’s Great Pumpkin Party is THIS Wednesday, Oct 31st, from 5:30-7:30pm. It seems like a lot of church members are excited about this, and word has it that some people will be dressing up in costumes for the event! I’ve done a little investigating, and actually figured out what a few people’s costumes are going to be. Let’s take a look…

Ken Killion: A hole-in-one
Ken brings his favorite game to the party with this stunning rendition of something he commonly scores.

Brent Clark: Elvis
He’s got the look, and he’s got the voice. Brent’s Elvis is sure to impress.

Don Burton: A Baptist Potluck
Baptists love food, and Don uses this to his advantage as he looks to bring home the best costume award.

Steve Smith: A Rocket Scientist
Enough said.

Ken McGreger: A Hush-puppy
Southern fried food – always a safe bet at ARBC.

Scott Oswald: Jake from Blues Brothers
Scott couples a cool hat & sunglasses with a lot of singing and dancing. Guaranteed to make you smile.

Kerri Clark: Rachael Ray
I hope she’ll be making cookies all evening.

…and finally

Tim Deatrick: A Member of the Congregation

You are strongly encouraged to wear a costume yourself! Also, remember to bring a pre-scooped-out-pumpkin.

The title says it all. Breakfast is at 8:30am! This sunday, Oct 14th.

This Sunday, in high school sunday school class we talked about how important gratitude is. At the end of class, the youth picked five people they’d like to thank, and they came up with “gratitude poems” for them. I read them in church, but here they are again!

Kerri Clark

“Thanks for the delicious food, Kerri
It is so very good
We especially like the cobbler blueberry
We would live with you if we could!”

Don Burton

“Kudos to you Don Burton
You pass out bulletins with style
With your wife we saw you a flirtin’
Seeing you makes us smile”

Susan Healy

“You do such a great job with the kids
They love you so much
You’re worth more than a hundred Ebay bids
So we’re buying you some lunch”

Kathi Wooderson

“You type so fast
And work with  children well
With you, the kids have a blast
You’re as beautiful as a shiny seashell!”

Paula Stewart

“Thanks for the music you play
and your help with the boy-scouts too
It really makes our day
And your car looks really new”

Seriously thanks to Kerri, Don, Susan, Kathi, and Paula for all they do for the church!
